G awsia Alipur house is located in Shiddeshwari, Ramna in a dense residential area. This is a unique project because of its location. Urban facilities like schools, colleges, universities, hospitals, and shopping malls are within walking distance. So, this is an urban apartment complex with a sensitive plan for the natural elements like the sunlight, wind, and greenery.
The site faces a road in the south. The building dealt with climatic issues faced by western daylight around the year and also intense wind flow during summer. For reducing the western heat and controlling the heavy flow of intense summer wind verandas, a planter box is given in the west. These climatic issues were solved by giving enough open spaces on different levels .Open spaces on different levels give proper ventilation and view.
The idea was to make two building blocks for proper ventilation. These building blocks are connected by mezzanine floors. The combination of play zone, greenery, and waterbody make the ground floor open and calm both climatically and aesthetically. It is an example of how with proper planning and nature come together, urban housing solutions can be reached.
